Textiles - skirt part 1

So far in textiles we had different options to chose from there was a hoodie, skirt, pants and kilts. I Chose to do a skirt as I thought it would be the easiest for me. We first started off by drawing the Pattern on some paper then we had to cut out the pattern. We then chose our fabric I chose a pattern that has polka dots on it. I have cut out the fabric into the patterns I cut out earlier now it's time to start sewing.

How is it made? Poly cotton is sometimes known as poly cotton or poly-cotton. It's mixed with

natural cotton and synthetics polyester.

What are the properties of poly cotton? 

Breathable

Can be ironed 

Retain colour 

Cheaper then 100% cotton

Fade resistant

Wrinkle resistant

Shrinks less the per cotton

Are there any special techniques for stitching poly cotton?

Google doesn't say anything but be careful going around the corners 

Commercial patterns

In textiles we have been learning about commercial patterns, I chose to make a skirt I was gonna make a hoodie but thought I should try something different. We are making miniskirts using the commercial patterns that our teacher is providing, we have traced the commercial pattern onto paper and our next step is to trace them onto a piece of fabric.
